I realize that hunting in Alaska is not an inexpensive endeavor and I appreciate the trust you have in me when paying your hard-earned money. I understand and appreciate that you have given considerable thought, preparation, and time, when deciding to go on an adventure like this. Payment Policy

Alaska Adventure Safaris (AAS) requires a 20% deposit along with this signed contract to reserve your hunt on our schedule. If your hunt requires you to draw a permit in the state lottery system (Bear, Goat, Elk). The balance must be brought to 100% of the contracted price within 10 days of the drawing results being posted by the State of Alaska (if you successfully draw a permit). If you are unsuccessful in the state drawing, all money paid will be applied to the same hunt one year later, and you will be re-submitted in the drawing at the appropriate time.

Refund Policy

If AAS cancels your hunt, we will refund all money paid. If your hunt is cancelled due to circumstances outside the control of AAS, your money will be refunded if you are able to provide another hunter to take your place, and provided that the hunt is able to take place. If you are unable to provide another hunter to take your place, AAS will work with you and attempt to fill your slot and will return your money if we are able to do so. Note that an alternate hunter must be provided in time to be submitted for the drawing, must be eligible to hunt, and all conditions in place for the hunt to take place.

Travel Insurance

AAS strongly recommends that you purchase “Cancel For Any Reason” travel insurance to protect any money you have paid to AAS, or towards your trip. Please do your research to insure the coverage you purchase covers any and all reasons for cancellation. Note that many insurance companies require you to purchase your policy within a short time period after paying your initial deposit (sometimes within 20 days). Should you choose to not purchase travel insurance, the investment you have made in your trip will not be protected should you not be able to go due to reasons outside the control of AAS.

Licenses & Permits

Please follow this link to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game that lists all license and tag fees.

Kodiak Brown Bears are hunted every spring and every fall, but you must draw a permit to hunt them. Chances of drawing a permit vary depending on the area applied for and other factors. In the past, the areas I guide in can range from about 20% to 80% chance of drawing a permit.

The process of submitting for the draw is very simple and literally takes less than 5 minutes. I will send you a client information sheet, and once returned to me, I will purchase your license for you and submit you in the drawing.

The application deadline for draw hunts varies but is usually Nov 1 to mid-December.
